About the Albany County Democratic Committee

The Albany County Democratic Committee (ACDC) is an organization committed to serving the community by supporting and electing candidates at every level that will fight to level the playing field for Albany County’s working families.

Besides the Executive Committee Officers, the ACDC is made up of Committee Members who support the Democratic Party in the Towns and Election Districts in which they reside. About Jake

Jake Crawford was elected chairman of the Albany County Democratic Committee in September 2020, becoming the youngest person ever elected to serve as the county’s Democratic leader. Immediately prior to his election as chairman, he served as the Committee’s first vice chairman and previously served as chair of the candidate review committee and a member of the executive and law committees.

Jake has been chairman of the Town of Guilderland Democratic Committee since 2017 and a committeeman since 2008. In addition to his party roles, Jake has a long record of public service. He currently serves as a member of the Town of Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals and previously served on the Town’s Conservation Advisory Council.

In 2012 he was a member of the Albany County Charter Commission. Jake currently works for the New York State United Teachers and previously served as policy director of the New York State Senate Higher Education Committee. Jake holds a bachelors and masters degree from the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College. He resides in Guilderland with his wife Kellen and their three daughters.

The people who represent the Albany County Democratic Committee work hard year-round, in communities, government, and local organizations to elect Democrats in the Empire state, while holding Republicans accountable across the board. We are dedicated to strengthening the Democratic Party to ensure that all people are able to live, work and thrive in our county, our state, and our nation.
